Neutral shades of beige, tan, cream, khaki, and sand have been gaining popularity over the last few years in both fashion and home design. Driven by the preferred grid aesthetic of Instagram influencers and celebrity clothing lines like Justin Bieber’s 50 Shades of Beige, the recent neutral trend has infiltrated all facets of fashion and apparel.
The stay-at-home orders of 2020 have contributed to an increased demand for hoodies, joggers, and crewneck styles. This helped bring some urban streetwear trends to the mainstream. The global pandemic also left many out of a job and looking for new ways to generate income leading to both an influx of small, limited-run streetwear clothing lines as well as a movement toward mindfully spending and supporting small businesses.
While many embraced the more flamboyant tie-dye trend of 2020, the demand for neutral garments that first gained popularity in 2019 like a cream colored hoodie, a tan sweatshirt, and mens khaki jogger pants continues to rise.
